Top 10 Fruit Candy

Honorable Mention. JOLLY RANCHERS

Many a school teacher would hand these out as a reward for a correct answer. Many flavors and varieties. Some of the best being Fruit Punch, Watermelon, Grape, Tangerine.

10. BLOW POPS

If you've never swallowed the gum inside a blowpop you aren't a hardcore fan of this candy. One of the best things about blowpops is that every flavor is amazing.

9. AIRHEADS

An upgrade on the old school Laffy Taffy. Best flavors include Orange, Mystery, Cherry, and "Blue".
8. RED MINI SWEDISH FISH

The other flavors aren't worth jack. Red Swedish Fish are the only way to go. Do NOT buy the jumbo fish. They do not compare.

7. MINI SOUR WATERMELON

More addictive than crack. As with the Swedish Fish do not buy the large size. Only this low on the list because of lack of variety.

6. SOUR PATCH KIDS
The perfect blend of sweet and sour. Best flavors are obviously Red and Orange.

5. ORIGINAL SKITTLES

Taste the rainbow Mofo. Shocking to see them at only #5. You don't love them if you haven't lacerated the roof of your mouth eating too many. If you truly love Original Skittles try dumping a bunch into a bottle of Sprite or Sierra Mist. Watch what happens then drink/eat.

4. TROPICAL SKITTLES

Yes, I think they are better than the originals. Standouts include Mango Tangelo and Pineapple Passionfruit.

3. JELLY BELLY SOURS

One of the best candies in the world. The only thing holding them back from a top ranking are the two green flavors - Sour Watermelon and Sour Apple.

2. CALIFORNIA FRUIT STARBURST

The best tasting candy there is. Not to be confused with Calfornia Baja Starbursts (which replaced them). California Fruit Starbursts were perfection. Flavors included: red cherry, strawberry-watermelon, raspberry and plum-passion.

1. ORIGINAL STARBURST

The king of all fruit candy. Perhaps not as overall perfect as California Fruit (because of lemon) but impossible not to put at #1.

I don't agree with your top few picks but you are certainly the connoisseur here. The one thing I can definitively argue is that grape is a crappy flavor of Jolly Rancher.

Grape doesn't make the list based on flavor alone my young Padawan. For some weird reason Grape Jolly Ranchers are the easiest to break. The best way is to have a glass of ice water - put the Grape Rancher in your mouth (heh) and then take a swig. Once you cool that sucker down it will shatter into a bunch of delicious pieces. Try doing that with Cherry or Apple - no dice.

I'm surprised that Airheads were so low on the list, and I've never heard of California Fruit Starbursts, which is apparently a shame.

I think for me the most surprising thing is that you were able to come up w/ a top 10. If you'd asked me before this post I probably could have at most named 6 fruit candies.

Before constructing a list, I must say that I loved your list (for the most part). The one thing I will point out is that I think you gave a little too much clout to the original flavors, leading me to believe that you are more of a traditional candy lover. That said, I'm not sure if you will like my list because I tend to go out on a limb a little more, but here goes...
First off, it's important to discuss the criteria for making the top ten list, as flavor alone doesn't necessarily constitute overall happiness upon consumption, as I will get into later. Also, it's important to acknowledge that some of the best tasting candies must not be consumed too regularly, otherwise they lose their appeal (not to mention they inevitably hurt the top of your mouth after a while). That said, here is my list:
10) Haribo Blackberries & Raspberries - Though basic, these bad boys pack a punch
9) Laffy Taffy - Not just gooey goodness, but also come with a cheesy joke inside every wrapper
8) Swedish Fish - As Wolfy mentioned, size does matter ;)
7) Pull & Peels - Not only great flavor, but you get to peel the strands much like string cheese, providing entertainment to we easily amused degens. I like making different shapes when deciding which strand to peel; the diamond is my favorite shape to create
6) Linda's Lollies - Long lasting and great tasting! So many unique flavors to choose from and hard to come by. The one knock is how expensive they are as compared with other candies
5) Jelly Bellies - With so many flavors to choose from, this candy is so versatile and delicious. One of my favorite pasttimes is doing a blind taste test with these bad boys
4) Sour Patch Kids - As far as the sour candy out there is concerned, this is the pinnacle. Best enjoyed in the movie theaters
e) Berries & Cream Starburst - Rarely do expansion packs & sequels do the original justice. Berries & Cream not only rise to the occasion, but surpass Original Starburst in flavor and addiction
2) Tropical Mike & Ikes - Wow, simply amazing! To think that I was only recently introduced to this candy is simply amazing. It makes me both sad and happy. Sad because the first 26 years of my life were void of the joy this candy provides, yet happy because I can now enjoy them from now on!
** Disclaimer: never go to the store intending on buying this candy, as many stores either do not carry it or are all out (go figure). This candy must be bought spur of the moment
1) Tropical Skittles - Exotic is the only word that comes to mind. Mango Tangelo? Pineapple Passion fruit? Strawberry Starfruit? Come on, how can you beat that?
